The Beginning

The University of Rhode Island Surfclub has been around for quite a long time. It all began with a man with a vision and some help from his college friends.

It has been rumored that Surfing Legend Peter Pan founded the URI Surfclub back in the 1960's. The club continued for a number of years and into the late 70's and early 80's where we estimate that the club started to go down hill. The club lost recognition from the URI Senate and was no longer a club but all hope wasn't lost.
